For this particular patient I curated a regimen which included the following:
TCA Cross (Trichloroacetic Acid Cross) is a technique primarily used to treat atrophic acne scars. I apply a high concentration of TCA to the base of each scar, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin remodeling.
Followed by subcision, I break the fibrous tissue bands that tether the scar to the underlying tissue. For deep and pitted scars that do not respond well to other methods I will perform punch excision. This procedure involves removing the individual scar with a small circular tool creating a controlled wound healing process.
A CO2 Laser is used to improve overall skin texture and appearance of the scars. The CO2 laser will also create microchannels in the skin so I can directly apply collagen-stimulating fillers.
To address volume loss and further improve skin texture, I use dermal fillers like Radiesse and Bellafill. The combination of these adds immediate volume and stimulates collagen production, reducing the appearance of certain types of acne scars.
