Chalky teeth, or technically called Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization are ‘whitish to yellow’ demarcated areas on teeth. Also commonly called as White Spots. These are essentially tooth defects in which there is less (Hypo-) deposition of minerals in enamel, making it porous and more prone to decay. Hypomineralized enamel can lead to extreme sensitivity, faster spread of dental decay and advanced decay leading to dental pain. Correct and early diagnosis is the key to manage Molar Incisor Hypomineralization.
