‘Disrespectful’: Jim Chalmers uses pandemic report to ‘point the finger’ at Coalition
Deputy Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has labelled Treasurer Jim Chalmers “disrespectful” for using a review of Australia’s COVID-19 response to “point the finger” at the previous Coalition government.
A review of Australia’s COVID-19 response was released on Tuesday by the Albanese government.
“I thought it was very disrespectful of Jim Chalmers to effectively find some other way of pointing the finger at the government that I was part of, that responded to this extraordinary set of circumstances,” Ms Ley told Sky News Australia.
“The inquiry was necessary. It wasn’t as wide-ranging as it should have been as state premiers should have been asked to give further evidence of what went on in every single state.”
