
GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux disease some people also called GERD is a problem caused by weakness of the junction of the stomach and the Esophagus. Esophagus is which causes the contents of stomach to reflex into the Esophagus causing chest burns, heartburn, excessive burping, dyspepsia, soft fluid coming from the throat. This gives the best results, medical management and Surgical management the decision of which is based on each person or each patient’s symptoms and the problems related to the GERD.
GERD is usually a clinical diagnosis, the common symptoms are presented being excessive burping, chest burns or chest pain, dyspepsia more on lying down or more after oily or spicy meal or spicy food. We can also diagnose it based on certain clinical history and some investigation including Esophagoscopy or endoscopy where we find some changes sometimes or other methods like PH testing we can diagnose GRED through these as well. The symptoms of Gastroesophageal Reflux disease are commonly because of acid reflux it up into the food pipe. The level to which the acid gets re fluxed or it reaches can cause various symptoms initially a common heart burn or chest pain it can also cause throat irritation it can cause cough it can sometimes cause Nasal irritation.
