Heat Stroke:

• Playing in hot sun can lead to a heat stroke
• It occurs when a child’s body creates more heat than it can release

Symptoms to look for:

• Body temperature over 104° F
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Fatigue
• Muscle cramps
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Dry, hot & flushed skin
• Irrational & disoriented behavior
• Absence of sweating

Causes:

• Not drinking water
• Excessive physical activity
• Wearing too much warm clothing

Natural home remedy using raw mango and cumin powder:

1.Take 6 raw mangoes
2. Boil them in 1 L water for 15 min
3. Peel and de-seed them
4. Separate the mango pulp
5.Mix the pulp in 250 ml water
6. Add 1 tsp cumin seed powder
7. Add 1 tsp salt
8. Add 2 tbsp sugar
9. Add 2 tsp crushed mint leaves
10. Mix well
11. Store this in the refrigerator
12. Give this cold drink to the child 2 times a day

Natural home remedy using milk and almonds:

1. Take 1 glass cold milk
2. Crush 4-5 almonds
3. Crush 5-7 dried rose petals
4. Add 2 tsp of crushed almonds to the milk
5. Add 2 tsp crushed rose petals
6. Mix well
7. Encourage the child to drink this in 3 equal doses through the day

Tips:

• Massage coconut oil on the scalp
• Intake of buttermilk 3 times a day is advisable
• Child should drink 8 glasses of water everyday
• Consume fruits with high water content,
• Lettuce
• Watermelon
• Broccoli
• Apples
• Child should wear light-weight & loose clothes
• Advise the child to play in a shaded area
