Surgery on Extreme Hole in Diabetic Foot with Neuropathy: Can Toe Bro Help Close the Hole?

Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to damage to the nerves in your feet and the eventual lost of sensation (feeling) in your feet. Without feeling in your feet, you become unaware to minor cuts, scrapes, blisters or injury. Because you are unaware of a possible injury, this can lead to the development of more severe wounds, infection and even possible amputation of the foot or leg.

This patient is a type 2 diabetic with no feeling in his feet. He works long hours on his feet and has to wear construction boots. An ill-fitting shoe lead to blister formation which eventually lead to an ulcer (wound). Here is our first appointment today in attempts to help close this potentially dangerous injury.
