What Causes A Scratchy Throat?



What causes your throat to get scratchy? So, a scratchy throat usually happens when something is irritating your throat, usually like an allergen or maybe a virus or cold. Basically what can happen is mucus from the back of your nose can drip down into your throat and cause your throat to get scratchy.

Sometimes your tonsils get swollen, sometimes your throat gets irritated. Another cause could be that something is coming up from below and causing acid reflux. Either way, if you’re having a scratchy throat, you may wanna think about whether you’re having heartburn or reflux. Or if you’re having allergies, you may wanna consider getting allergy tested and doing allergy treatment.
